Vishal Patel is a partner who leads the investing team at Butterfly. Vishal has nearly 15 years of investing and finance experience, primarily in food, consumer and healthcare sectors and will be responsible for deal origination, transaction diligence, execution and portfolio management for the firm. Over the course of his career, he has been involved in over a dozen investments representing over $14 billion in invested equity. For Butterfly, Vishal serves on the board of directors of The Duckhorn Portfolio, Rise Baking Co, Pete and Gerry's, Bolthouse Fresh Foods, Generous Brands and Qdoba.
Previously, Vishal was a Managing Director at KKR's private equity team, helping lead investments in consumer, retail and healthcare. Over the course of his 13 years at KKR, he was involved with many consumer / food investments including US Foods (NYSE: USFD)*, Upfield, Cardenas Markets*, Academy Sports (Nasdaq: ASO)* and PetVet* as well as a number of healthcare deals including 123 Dentist*, Biomet, PRA Life Sciences (Nasdaq: PRAH) and Therapy Brands*. Before that, he was with Moelis & Company where he was involved in a variety of mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring transactions. He holds a B.S. in Economics summa cum laude from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
