Mr. Musk has over 25 years of experience in technology and food as a founder, investor, executive or board member with businesses including Tesla Inc., SpaceX, PayPal, Zip2, OneRiot, Chipotle Mexican Grill, The Kitchen Restaurant Group, Square Roots, and Big Green.
Mr. Musk is currently the Co-Founder and Chairman of three food companies including: The Kitchen Restaurant Group, a multi-concept restaurant platform with a focus on sustainable sourcing; Square Roots, an urban farm company bringing tech-enabled, hyper-local vertical farming to cities across the United States; and Big Green, a national nonprofit dedicated to pursuing a healthier future for kids with its network of over 700 outdoor Learning Garden classrooms that reach over 350,000 students daily.
Previously, Mr. Musk and his brother Elon Musk founded Zip2, an online directory business sold to Compaq Computer in 1999. After selling Zip2, Mr. Musk invested in several early stage software and technology companies including X.com, an online financial services and email payments company that later merged with PayPal and was subsequently sold to eBay in 2002. Mr. Musk was also the CEO of OneRiot, a social media analytics and search technology company.
Mr. Musk currently sits on the boards of Tesla Inc. and SpaceX, previously served on the board of Chipotle Mexican Grill, and has been named a Global Social Entrepreneur by the World Economic Forum. He has served as an Adjunct Professor at New York University, and is a graduate of Queen’s Business School in Canada and the French Culinary Institute.
