Mr. Prelle is a Partner and Chief Transformation Officer at Butterfly and is a member of the Firm’s Investment Committee. In this role, Mr. Prelle is responsible for supporting Butterfly portfolio company management teams in the identification, design and delivery of long-term value creation initiatives. Mr. Prelle has over 25 years of operational improvement experience, collaborating with dozens of companies to deliver accelerated performance and attractive returns to stakeholders.
Prior to joining Butterfly, Mr. Prelle was the Managing Partner, Americas for KKR’s operations team, KKR Capstone, where he worked alongside Mr. Waglay, Mr. Patel and Mr. Tang and oversaw a portfolio encompassing over $150 billion in revenue and over 700,000 employees. In this role, Mr. Prelle had responsibility for portfolio company operations work across all of KKR America’s industry groups, with personal oversight of the Consumer, Food and Retail sectors, including investments in Dollar General, US Foods (NYSE: USFD), Big Heart Pet Brands / Del Monte Foods, Capsugel, National Vision (NASDAQ: EYE), Channel Control Merchants and Fleet Farm. Beyond industry support, he also had responsibility for Capstone’s centers of functional excellence, including Technology, Procurement, Operations and Risk Management, supported operational diligence efforts to evaluate and support investment improvement theses and served in several permanent and interim senior operating roles. Earlier in his career, Mr. Prelle was an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company within the firm’s Consumer and Retail practice.
Mr. Prelle holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago.
