Adam Waglay

Co-founder & Co-CEO

Adam Waglay is a Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Butterfly. Mr. Waglay has over 20 years of investing and operating experience with a primary focus on the food sector, and is responsible for deal origination, transaction execution, portfolio management and overall leadership of Butterfly. To date, Mr. Waglay has been involved in transactions totaling over $8 billion of invested capital. Mr. Waglay serves on the board of directors of each of The Duckhorn Portfolio, Rise Baking, Actus Nutrition (formerly known as Milk Specialties Global), Chosen Foods, Pete and Gerry's, Generous Brands, Bolthouse Fresh Foods, QDOBA and the Butterfly Equity Foundation. Mr. Waglay also previously served on the board of Orgain before the sale to Nestle and on the board of MaryRuth Organics before the management buyout and recapitalization.

Prior to founding Butterfly, Mr. Waglay was a senior member of KKR’s Consumer Retail Private Equity team, where he had worked from 2007 to 2016 with a primary focus on the food sector. During this time, he was actively involved in several transactions, including Dollar General, Academy Sports + Outdoors and National Vision, among others. Prior to joining KKR in 2007, Mr. Waglay worked at Goldman Sachs & Co. where he was part of the Consumer Retail Investment Banking team with a primary focus on the food sector. Mr. Waglay graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Commerce.
